Pool Electrical Services
Disconnect placement is a code requirement and a convenience decision at once. Appliance circuits fail at the connection, not in the middle of the run, which is why a loose terminal shows up as a dead appliance.

What this work actually involves
Disconnects and bonding are installed where water is involved, because that is what the code is protecting against.
Clint measures before he quotes. The reading comes first, then what it means, then the one repair that solves it. If the honest answer is smaller than what you called about, that is the answer you get, even when the bigger job pays better.
Work that needs a permit gets one, and work that needs an inspection is left ready for it. One person does the diagnosis and the repair, so nothing is lost between a salesman and a technician.
When people call about this
- An appliance with a scorched plug
- A pool pump on a shared circuit
- Mini-split installed with no circuit
- A new range or dryer that will not run
Why people choose Clint for it
One person does the diagnosis and the repair, so nothing is lost between a salesman and a technician, and nobody is paid to sell past the finding.
Seventeen years in the trade, four of them running his own shop, 5.0 from 94 Google reviews, and an A+ BBB accreditation held since 2022.
Where this is done

Read the data plate, not the old circuit
Every appliance states what it expects: volts, amps or watts, and often the circuit size. That plate is the specification, and a replacement appliance frequently asks for more than the one it replaced.
Same-size replacements still change things. Induction cooktops and heat-pump dryers draw differently from what was there in 1996.
Water, bonding and disconnects
Hot tubs, pools and saunas carry extra requirements: a disconnect within sight but not too close, GFCI protection, and bonding of the metal parts around the water.
Bonding is the part most often missed. It ties the metal together so there is no voltage difference between the ladder and the water, which is the actual hazard.
Bonding is the part that matters
Around water, equipotential bonding, which ties the metal and the water and the surrounding deck to the same potential, is what prevents a shock hazard. It is also the part most often missing on an older installation.
So bonding gets verified rather than assumed, along with GFCI protection and a disconnect at the required distance. The code numbers around water are specific and inspectors know them.
What makes this harder in older housing stock
Across this metro the recurring complications are predictable: no equipment ground, aluminum branch wiring from the mid-seventies, knob-and-tube buried in blown-in insulation, panels that have been added to several times, and splices in places the code has not allowed for decades.
Those turn a simple job into a decision about scope. The decision gets put to you with the reading behind it rather than made quietly and billed.
Permits, inspections and why they vary here
Requirements genuinely differ across this metro. O’Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters, the St. Louis County municipalities and St. Louis City each run their own process, and what one treats as a minor repair another permits and inspects.
Work that needs a permit gets one, and work that needs an inspection is left ready for it with the panel labeled and the junctions accessible. That matters most before a closing, when an inspector’s written item becomes someone’s negotiating position.
“Clint came out installed me a large 200 amp panel put some new dedicated lines in my basement and garage he did great clean work all inspections passed he was thorough and knowledgeable. I will have him back out again.”

How the visit goes
- The call
Which appliance, and whether it is new, replacing something, or failing.
- The measurement
The appliance’s data plate against the existing circuit, and the condition of the terminations at both ends.
- The finding
Whether the circuit is right, needs upgrading, or is fine and the problem is a connection.
- The work
Circuit matched to the plate, disconnect and bonding where water is involved, terminations torqued to specification, tested under load.
What the job includes
- Circuit matched to the appliance’s own data plate
- Disconnects and bonding where water is involved
- Terminations torqued to specification
- Correct receptacle or hardwired connection as the appliance requires
- Permit and inspection where required
- Testing under load before we leave
What it does not
- Supplying or repairing the appliance
- Plumbing and gas connections
- Appliance haul-away
Anything outside electrical, you will be told who to call rather than sold it. See finished work, or say what the house is doing.

Pool Electrical Services across the metro
Five jurisdictions, five different sets of conditions. Clint works out of O’Fallon across five jurisdictions, and the same service means different work in each.
Lincoln County
Outages last longer this far from town, which changes the backup conversation from comfort to the pump.
Warren County
It is the far end of a roughly fifty mile radius, so visits get grouped rather than squeezed in. That affects the date, not the price.
St. Charles County
Modern wiring, undersized services. That combination defines most of the work in this county, and it makes the load calculation the deciding document rather than a panel inspection.
County by county coverage is on the service areas page.
Questions worth asking first.
Will my induction range fit the existing circuit?
Often not. Induction generally draws more than the coil range it replaces, and the appliance data plate settles it before delivery day.
Why did my dryer outlet burn?
Terminations at a dryer receptacle see heat and vibration for decades. Discolouration there is a connection problem, and the receptacle gets replaced rather than reused.
My new appliance will not run. Is it the appliance?
Often it is the circuit. The data plate states what the appliance expects, and comparing that to the existing circuit usually explains it in one visit.
Who actually shows up?
Clint Ehman. Infinity Electric is owner-operated, so the person who answers the phone is the person who measures your panel and pulls the permit. There is no dispatcher and no commissioned salesman.
Are you licensed and insured?
Licensed, bonded and insured, with workers compensation coverage, and accredited A+ with the BBB since 2022.
