Bathroom Exhaust Fan Installation
Ventilation only works if the air actually leaves the building. A fan is a weight on a box, and most fan complaints are a box that was never rated to hold one.
Bathroom Exhaust Fan Installation in O’Fallon and across St. Charles, St. Louis, Lincoln and Warren counties.
Owner-operated: the person who answers the phone is the person who measures it.

What this work actually involves
Controls are wired so speed and light work separately, which is what people expect and rarely get.
Clint measures before he quotes. The reading comes first, then what it means, then the one repair that solves it. If the honest answer is smaller than what you called about, that is the answer you get, even when the bigger job pays better.
Work that needs a permit gets one, and work that needs an inspection is left ready for it. One person does the diagnosis and the repair, so nothing is lost between a salesman and a technician.
When people call about this
- No ventilation in a new bathroom
- A wobbling ceiling fan
- A bath fan that does not clear steam
- A fan on a light-only box
Why people choose Clint for it
A one-person shop cannot be in two places at once, so you get a real date instead of a window. What you also get is the same person every time.
Seventeen years in the trade, four of them on his own, 5.0 from 94 Google reviews and an A+ BBB accreditation since 2022.
Where this is done

The box, the brace and the duct
Nearly every fan problem is one of three things: a box not rated for a moving load, no bracing to structure, or a duct that does not reach outside. The motor is rarely the issue.
A fan-rated box braced to framing and a duct terminating outdoors with as few turns as the structure allows is most of a fan install done right.
A fan is a moving load
A ceiling box rated for a light fixture is not rated for a fan. Fans transmit vibration as well as weight, and a box that was fine for a 5 pound fixture will work itself loose under a fan.
A fan-rated box braced to structure solves it, and it is the difference between a fan that is quiet in five years and one that wobbles in five months.

Moving the air out of the building
A bath fan that vents into the attic moves the moisture from one place you cannot see it to another, where it condenses on the sheathing. The duct has to terminate outside.
So the run gets planned to an outside termination with as few turns as the framing allows, and the fan is sized to the room rather than to whatever was there. A quiet fan that is actually used beats a loud one nobody turns on.
What the price actually depends on
Three things move the number on almost every job: how far the run has to travel and what it passes through, whether the existing panel has space and the service has capacity, and whether the municipality wants a permit and an inspection. None of those is visible from the phone call, which is why the measurement comes before the quote.
What does not move it is urgency theatre. There is no inflated figure waiting to be discounted, and no bundle built so the thing you called about cannot be bought on its own.
Who actually does the work
Clint Ehman does the diagnosis and the repair himself. There is no salesman writing a scope for a technician to execute, and nobody paid on what the visit totals.

How the visit goes
- The call
Which room and what the fan needs to do: move air, clear steam, or both.
- The measurement
What the existing box is rated for, the room volume, and where the duct can reach the outside.
- The finding
Whether a rated box and brace are needed, and what duct route will actually clear the air.
- The work
Fan-rated box braced to structure, duct run to an outside termination, controls separating light from speed, and a quiet run tested on every setting.
What the job includes
- A fan-rated box braced to structure
- Ducting to the outside, sized to the room
- Controls that separate light from speed
- Balancing and a quiet run tested on every speed
- Old fixture removed and the opening made good
What it does not
- Supplying decorative fans, unless you ask
- Roof or soffit repair beyond the vent termination
- Attic insulation work
Anything that is not an electrical problem gets identified as such and handed on. See the work itself, or send the details.

Five jurisdictions, five different sets of conditions. What an inspector looks at first differs by address here, which shapes the job as much as the house does.
St. Louis City
Brick with plaster over lath, party walls that limit where a run can go, and a hundred years of electrical layers in the basement.
Lincoln County
Rural properties where the panel is fine and the two hundred foot run to the barn is the actual job.
Warren County
Which of those you have changes the entire conversation, so the first visit establishes what is actually there rather than assuming from the address.

Questions worth asking first.
Can you brace a fan box without opening the ceiling?
In most cases yes, with a brace fitted through the existing opening. Where the framing will not allow it, you are told before anything comes down.
Where does a bath fan have to vent?
Outside the building. Venting into the attic just moves the moisture somewhere you cannot see it condensing on the sheathing.
Can a fan hang from my existing ceiling box?
Only if that box is fan-rated and braced to structure. A light box will hold a fixture, not a moving load, so a rated box goes in first.
Who actually shows up?
Clint Ehman. Infinity Electric is owner-operated, so the person who answers the phone is the person who measures your panel and pulls the permit. There is no dispatcher and no commissioned salesman.
Are you licensed and insured?
Licensed, bonded and insured, with workers compensation coverage, and accredited A+ with the BBB since 2022.
